EVENTS
4TH OF JULY ... At about 11 a.m., the Stars and Stripes Parade will rumble, toot and rat-a-tat its way down the main street of Cedarville.
During the day, the historical and maritime museums will be holding open houses.
And at dusk (you guessed it), fireworks.
AUG. 11-12. Now comes the summer's big wow. Les Cheneaux Antique Wooden Boat Show at Hessel. Everything floats, and everything is a work of art. Look for dingies, rowboats, runaabouts, cedar strip canoes, large cruisers and sailboats.
As if the boats themselves are not art enough, the Festival of Arts is being held at the same time. Look for paintings, carvings, pottery, dolls, art photographs and more.
Admission: $7 for adults; $3 for ages 12-18.
